Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has come out to say that his players were unhappy despite beating Manchester United on Sunday. He recently revealed that it is a good sign that his players felt they could have played better at Old Trafford.
Speaking to the press, Arteta shared that Arsenal failed to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford for many years before he joined the club, so it is a huge positive to see it finally happen.

According to him, he is very pleased with the hard-fought result at such an intimidating stadium because Manchester United did everything possible to start the season with a victory.
He stated that the reaction he got from the boys is proof that they’re aware of the need to improve ahead of the next game.
His words, “Well I think that was the case… It was 18 years or 22 years here at Old Trafford without winning before I came, and now I go in the dressing room, we won here the first game, and we are not still happy. Good sign.
A big, big result coming into the first game of the season at Old Trafford. When you feel that they are building something special and momentum with the new signings and they want to kick on the season in a good way and you are able to come away with the win, I think I’m very happy,” he said.
Arteta further noted that the set-piece delivery and their quick reaction to mistakes made it a very applaudable performance from the players.
He concluded by saying that his boys have to always given themselves the opportunity to win the game no matter how poorly they’re playing.
“We showed it in a different way today. I think we did two things very well. One, to take the set-piece and then react to especially mistakes.
Some of them are necessary, some of them unusual. But the way every single player reacted to that gives us the opportunity to win the game.
If not, it’s impossible. And that’s about how we compete and how much we want to take it,” he added.
