Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the only political party capable of addressing Nigeria’s economic and security challenges ahead of the 2027 general election.
Atiku, the ADC presidential candidate, made the declaration on Thursday during the party’s presidential campaign rally in Kebbi State.

He identified the restoration of fuel subsidy, improved security and employment generation as key priorities of the party, insisting that the ADC was committed to delivering on the promises if elected into power.
Addressing supporters at the rally, Atiku asked Nigerians whether they wanted the return of fuel subsidy, improved security and more employment opportunities.
He said the ADC offered a platform for achieving those objectives and called on voters to support the party in the forthcoming election.
“Do you want the return of subsidy? Do you want security? Do you want employment? Therefore, you have no option but the ADC. The ADC is the only party committed to these three objectives and more to bring about prosperity, unity and peace in our country,” he said.
The former Vice-President urged Nigerians to vote for the ADC on election day and take deliberate steps to ensure that their votes count during the collation process.
He advised party supporters to monitor the recording and movement of election results from polling units to ward, local government and state collation centres.
Atiku alleged that previous elections had been manipulated, arguing that voters must take responsibility for protecting their electoral choices in 2027.
“They stole two previous elections, and we did not do anything. This is the time to protect your rights and your future,” he said.
The ADC candidate’s remarks formed part of his campaign message as the party intensified efforts to mobilise support across the country.
His promises on fuel subsidy, security and employment also featured prominently in the party’s campaign activities in Sokoto, where it formally commenced its presidential campaign.
The Kebbi rally came amid heightened political tension following a Federal High Court judgment in Abuja that nullified the leadership structure of the ADC led by former Senate President David Mark and invalidated the process that produced Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate.
Atiku and the ADC rejected the ruling and indicated plans to challenge it through the appellate court.
Despite the legal dispute, the former Vice-President maintained his campaign activities in Kebbi, urging Nigerians to support the ADC and participate actively in the 2027 electoral process.
