Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has called on the people of Ondo State to support PDP’s governorship candidate, Hon. Ajayi, in the upcoming election set for Saturday.
In a statement released by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku encouraged PDP members to mobilize strong backing for Ajayi, emphasizing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become “grossly unpopular” in the state.
He described Ajayi as a skilled and experienced politician who is committed to improving the lives of Ondo residents.
“The governorship election that is coming up in Ondo State this Saturday presents an opportunity for the people of Ondo State to elevate the condition of the state into increased prosperity,” Atiku stated.
“The APC, as it has been made clear to everyone, is a grossly unpopular party which does not have the interest of the people as a core objective.”
Atiku further expressed confidence in Ajayi’s ability to lead effectively, urging Ondo residents to use their votes to signal dissatisfaction with the APC’s governance.
“The people of Ondo State have an opportunity in Hon. Ajayi of the PDP to tell the APC that enough is enough.
As leaders of the party, we shall provide all necessary support to ensure that the APC is not allowed to repress the wishes of the electorate in this election,” he said.
Additionally, Atiku issued a caution to election officials and volunteers, warning that the PDP would not tolerate any form of malpractice in the Ondo governorship election, affirming the party’s commitment to a fair electoral process.
