Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the defection of the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Kwankwaso officially picked up his membership card of the ADC on Monday, marking a significant development in the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Several key stakeholders of the party, including Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, were present at Kwankwaso’s residence in Kano to witness the defection.

Reacting in a post on his official Facebook page, Atiku expressed excitement over Kwankwaso’s alignment with other opposition figures, describing it as a major boost to efforts aimed at unseating the ruling party.
According to him, the growing alliance among opposition leaders has the potential to challenge the current power structure.
“When men of conviction come together, power trembles. Welcome aboard, HE Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” Atiku wrote.
