Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Daniel Bwala over his recent redesignation as President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Shaibu dismissed Bwala’s role as inconsequential, questioning the existence of policies worth communicating under Tinubu’s administration.
“Speed without control leads to ruin, but @aonanuga1956, with the relish of an elder, wasted no time in declaring that @BwalaDaniel was, in fact, a Special Adviser on NOTHING,” Shaibu wrote.

“In a government that names someone an S.A. on Policy Communications, one must ask: what policies are there to talk about?”
Shaibu’s remarks followed an announcement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, regarding changes within the presidential media team.
Onanuga revealed that Sunday Dare, who was previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been reassigned as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
Bwala, who was initially named Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
The redesignation has sparked mixed reactions, with critics like Shaibu questioning the necessity and relevance of the new roles amidst ongoing debates about the administration’s policy direction.
