The Federal Government is reportedly set to hand over Shiite leader, Sheikh Zakzaky, to the Kaduna State government for trial. It was gathered that the handing over was authorized by the Attorney General of the judgment (AGF), Malami Abubakar. According to Daily Trust, the State government had since requested Zakzaky to be handed but the Federal government refused until now. The Sheikh’s release is said to enable the state government to charge the cleric to court for offences allegedly committed for close to three decades. A Federal High Court in Lagos has given the final order for former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke to forfeit about N34 billion to the Federal Government. The money, in separate sums of N23.4 billion, N9.08 billion and $5 million, was linked to Alison-Madueke by the EFCC. The order was given by presiding judge, Justice Muslim Hassan on Thursday, February 16. In reaching the decision, Justice Hassan said that the EFCC has successfully proved that the funds were proceeds of illegal activity. Late gospel star, Eric Arubayi, 34, will be buried on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Arubayi died on Saturday February 11, 2017, after suffering complications from the consumption of an expired anti-malaria drug. An internment and praise and worship session will be held in Delta state where he would also be buried.
