The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday refuted report that the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, was shut down by workers over non-payment of their salaries. Over 50 suspected militants reportedly attacked officials of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 3, at Aridolf Aridolf Resort Wellness and Spa, The Cable reports. It was also learnt that the facility is owned by former first lady Patience Jonathan. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Nigeria’s foreign debt stood at 11.41 billion dollars while its domestic debts was N14.02 trillion respectively in 2016.
