President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a list 28 nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to the Senate for confirmation. The letter dated Monday, February 27, 2017, was sent to the Senate by Vice (Acting) President, Yemi Osinbajo. According to the letter, some RECs were renominated by President Buhari following the expiration of their tenures. The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), on Thursday donated relief materials worth N15 million to communities affected by recent attacks on southern Kaduna.
