Prominent lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana has said that each Nigerian governor has 162 policemen guarding him. Falana made the disclosure on Monday, May 9, 2016, during an appearance on TV. “We used to have 300 policemen guarding a Governor, now Police assigns about 162 officers to guard each State Governor. There’s no way you can police 170million people with 130,000 police officers when Police has half of them guarding big men,” he said. Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has signed the state’s 2016 appropriation bill of N99.9 billion into law.
