Earlier on Monday, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) announced that local government elections in the state will be held on October 15. The electoral umpire called on residents to check the register for respective claims and objections. The Catholic Church in Nigeria has rejected the apology by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State over his utterances on the Pope. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has accused Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration of debasing the Kano State civil service.
