As part of its strategy to equip women with the capacity to fully participate in the forth-coming Primaries and Congresses, the Peoples Democratic Party has scheduled a one-day workshop for all its female aspirants today at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 10:00am.
The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, will host the workshop, which is put together by the National Woman Leader of the PDP, Chief (Mrs) Kema Chikwe. Mrs. Jonathan is to be supported by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Maina.
According to a statement by Mrs. Chikwe, the aim of the workshop is to maximize the gains of President Goodluck Jonathan’s drive for increased female participation in governance and to prepare all female aspirants including all the incumbents for the task of contesting for elective positions in 2015 general election.
Seasoned political stakeholders will be resource persons at the workshop while the International Republican Institute (IRI) will provide technical support.
