The Kano State Hisbah Board said it has arrested 22 beggars for violating the state Anti-begging Law. The Public Relations Officer of the board, Malam Mohammed Yusuf, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Thursday. “Our men were able to again arrest 22 street beggars who are violating the law banning street begging in Kano metropolis,” Yusuf said. The Defence Intelligence Agency is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring it tracks the sources of funding for Boko Haram and terrorism in the country. The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Rear Adm. The Kano State government has dropped murder charges against 14-year-old girl, Wasila Tasi’u, who had been on trial for killing her 35-year-old husband. Wasila allegedly thumb-printed a confessional statement while in police custody that she killed her husband, Umar Sani by putting rat poison in his food after she was forced to marry the deceased against her wish.
