The National Council on Health will on Monday meet to find out workable modalities that will curtail further spread of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria. According to Federal Ministry of Health officials, the council, which comprise all the 36 state Commissioners for Health, including the FCT, is expected to focus on novel strategies that will ensure that the disease does not spread outside the current locations where there are confirmed cases. Nigeria has suspended Gambia Bird, the Gambian national airline from flying into the country, alleging “unsatisfactory” measures by the airline to contain the spread of Ebola virus, officials said on Sunday. A seven-year-old boy was Sunday burnt to death in an inferno that engulfed a two-storey building at the Lagos State Property Development Corporation Housing Estate, Agege Local Government, Lagos State. The deceased identified as Sulaimon, was said to be sleeping with other five members of the family at block 68, flat 5/6 at the estate popularly called Ijaiye Low cost housing Estate, Pen-Cinema, Agege when the fire started.
