The Niger State Disaster Management Agency has confirmed the death of 11 persons in a boat mishap between Garafini-Kodo and Garafini riverine area of Borgu Local Government Area of the state. The Special Adviser to the governor in charge of the agency, Alhaji Mohammed Shaba, told journalists on Tuesday in Minna that the accident occurred on Monday. Shaba said that 18 passengers were aboard the ill-fated boat when the accident occurred between 5.00 pm and 6.00pm.
