Unknown gunmen have attacked the southern Kaduna village of Fadan Karsi, in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State, killing five people, including two policemen. The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Lawal, who initially denied knowledge of the incident, said security agencies were investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the state governor, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, has described the latest attack as a “provocative attempt by hoodlums to throw the state into confusion”. An Abuja High Court on Tuesday ordered former President Olusegun Obasanjo to file a statement of defence in a libel suit brought against him by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Buruji Kashamu.
