Avram Grant has hinted that he will deliver the Africa Cup of Nations for his employers in 2017 after missing out on Sunday.
    .
His team dramatically lost in a 9-8 shootout to Cote d’Ivoire’s Elephants in Equatorial Guinea after largely not being expected to get that far. Speaking after the squad landed in Ghana, the Israeli was sure his team could go one better.
    .
“For me it was a very good tournament because seeing the players come together and the performance they put up in such a short time, I think they really did well,” the 60-year-old said.
    .
Cote d’Ivoire, neighbours of Ghana, won the title after a 23-year wait. “I think we did better than in the past and we will do well in the future, I can promise you,” he said.
    .
“We have laid a good foundation for the future and for me the future will be very bright and that is something I can promise you.”
    .
The next task for the gaffer is to lead the team into qualifiers for the next World Cup starting later in 2015.
