Wales winger, Gareth Bale is holding on to see the plans Zidane has for him at the Bernabeu before he decides on what his next step would be, Jonathan Barnett has said.
The relationship between Bale and Zidane got weak towards the end of last season before Zidane’s initial exit.
After Bale’s wondergoal in the UCL final, he said after the game that he would “seriously consider” his future at the club because of the limited opportunities he was getting on the pitch.
Former Spanish manager, who was employed at the time, Julen Lopetegui then convinced the former Spurs attacker to commit to the club and stay after Ronaldo left for Juventus.
Today, Wales manager, Ryan Giggs named Bale in his squad and backed his player’s record in the Spainish capital and had good things to say about the rapid forward.
He said, “I played for [Manchester] United and you are open to criticism when you are at a big club,”
“You have to put up with that and great players there have.
“You have to take the rough with the smooth. The two Ronaldos had it there but Gareth has won four Champions Leagues. He is a fantastic player. He is a great player for Real Madrid and a great player for Wales. When Gareth turns up he gives everyone a lift — the players and the staff.
“He is an experienced player and I have said over again what a quality player and person he is. When he plays for Wales he gives 100 percent and more often than not he performs well so I don’t expect any different.”
