Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, on Sunday gave advice to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, to withdraw the new naira notes issued by the previous administration.
Ayodele’s advice was made public on INRI’s official website.
Ayodele denounced the new notes as devilish, demonic, and a bad portent for Nigeria’s economy in a statement that was signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, and distributed to the media.
He explained that any additional printing of the new notes would result in a significant loss for Nigeria, which could be avoided by simply withdrawing it from circulation.
According to Ayodele, the earlier design was ideal for Nigeria and ought to be the sole form of currency that is recognized as legitimate in the country.
”The new notes that were developed by Godwin Emefiele, a former governor of the CBN, ought to be withdrawn by the current governor of the CBN. Because of the money, they are going to incur a significant loss; he needs to put an end to this situation.
”The money is a bad sign for Nigeria; it is money that has been possessed by maritime spirits. I have no idea who gave Emefiele that piece of advice, but that color is demonic. He suggested that we should refrain from spending the money and instead only use notes of the previous naira denomination.
In the late year 2022, the government that had been led by former President Muhammadu Buhari had redesigned the naira.
As the country was ready for the general elections in 2023, the then-governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele, made the announcement about the makeover.
