Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis has come out to share why defender Kalidou Koulibaly was sold to Chelsea despite Barcelona being linked to him. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Koulibaly clearly wanted to leave but he never fancied selling him to Barcelona because the club has no money.
Aurelio added that immediately the club received an offer from Chelsea, it was impossible to say no.
His words, “Koulibaly wanted to leave, I told him: ‘I can’t sell you to Barcelona as they had no money.'”
“Then we received a proposal from Chelsea, it was impossible to say ‘no.'”
