Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has commented on the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the ward level.
Ahmad noted that the same tactics used in suspending the former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, were employed in Ganduje’s situation.
Ganduje was suspended on Monday by his ward in DawakinTofa local government area of Kano State over alleged corruption.

The ward’s legal adviser, Haladu Gwanjo, accused Ganduje of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his tenure as Kano State governor.
Ahmad stated that if Ganduje’s suspension was conducted in accordance with the party’s laws, then he is no longer an APC member.
According to Ahmad, Ganduje cannot serve as the national chairman since he has been suspended.
He compared the current situation to the tactics used during Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s tenure, suggesting that there may have been maneuvers happening behind the scenes.
Ahmad wrote on X, “If the widely reported suspension of the national chairman of our great party was conducted in accordance with due process, then he is no longer a party member, and constitutionally, he cannot serve as the national chairman since he is not a registered member of the party.
This situation has a resemblance to the tactics used during Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s tenure. There must have been maneuvers happening behind the scenes.”
