Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed his support for suspended Senator Abdul Ningi, praising the lawmaker’s integrity amid controversies surrounding him.
Governor Mohammed, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reiterated his support for Senator Ningi during a Bauchi State Executive Council meeting.
He emphasized the importance of allowing dissent in politics without resorting to punitive measures.

“I stand firm in our support for Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi of Bauchi Central,” Governor Mohammed affirmed.
The governor commended Senator Ningi’s performance, heritage, uprightness, and integrity, describing him as one of the best-performing senators.
Senator Ningi recently made headlines with claims about the 2024 budget, alleging that the federal government was operating two versions of the budget, with the N28.7 trillion budget favoring the North.
However, he later clarified that only N25 trillion of the budget was tied to projects, while N3.7 trillion had no specific projects attached.
Despite his clarification, Senator Ningi faced criticism from many senators and the presidency, leading to his resignation as Chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum and a three-month suspension by his colleagues in the red chamber.
Governor Mohammed’s support for him comes at a time when he is under intense scrutiny and facing disciplinary actions.
