Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully elected a new set of executive officers to lead the party in the state.
The election, which took place over the weekend, marked a significant step for the PDP as it prepares to solidify its position as the ruling party in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Pharmacist Sama’ila Adamu Burga emerged as the new Chairman of the Bauchi PDP, with Falalu Attah elected as the Deputy Chairman.
The other newly elected officials include Bakoji Aliyu Bobo as Secretary, Danlami Garba Abubakar as Zonal Chairman for Bauchi South, Sani Muhammad Burra as Zonal Chairman for Bauchi Central, and Mustapha Mai Kwana as Zonal Chairman for Bauchi North.
Hafsat Adamu was elected as Treasurer, Garba Mundaminyo as Financial Secretary, Abdulkadir Alin Bababa as Organising Secretary, and Adamu Babayo Gabarin as Publicity Secretary.
The roles of Youth Leader and Women Leader were filled by Babangida Maliya and Maimuna Ahmad, respectively.
The Chairman of the electoral committee, Ambassador Umar El-Gash, announced that all candidates were unopposed and thus were declared elected without contest.
The peaceful and uncontested nature of the election reflects the unity within the Bauchi PDP, as all members appeared to rally behind the selected candidates.
During the event, Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by his Deputy, Muhammad Auwal Jatau, commended the new executives on their successful election.
He urged them to build on the successes of their predecessors, emphasising the importance of unity and strategic planning to maintain the PDP’s dominant position in Bauchi State politics.
Governor Mohammed highlighted the need for the new leadership to engage all party members in their efforts, ensuring that the party remains vibrant and responsive to the needs of the people.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Sama’ila Adamu Burga, expressed his gratitude to the party members for their support and confidence in his leadership.
