The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has rejected reports of an alliance with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), describing the development as the handiwork of a rival faction.
The state chapter also distanced itself from the group purportedly involved in the alliance, insisting that it did not represent the recognised leadership of the party in Bauchi.
The PDP said the party remained committed to its existing political structure and had not authorised any agreement with the APM ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It urged party members and supporters to disregard statements or activities emanating from individuals or groups operating outside the recognised leadership of the party.
The development comes amid growing political realignments as political parties and their members position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Bauchi PDP leadership maintained that it would continue to pursue its political objectives through the structures recognised by the party.
It further urged members to remain united and focused, warning against actions capable of creating confusion or weakening the party ahead of the polls.
The party said it would take appropriate steps to protect its structure and interests as preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify.
