Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reiterated the commitment of Nigerian governors to effectively implement a new minimum wage for workers.
The governor made this affirmation on his verified Facebook page following his participation in a meeting in Yola, convened by the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage (North-East Zone) on Friday.
“We are collaborating to ensure the smooth implementation of the new minimum wage,” he stated.

Governor Mohammed also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support of the state governments and his efforts to enhance the well-being of all Nigerians.
The federal government constituted a 37-member Tripartite Committee in January to negotiate and agree on the new minimum wage, which is due to take effect this year.
Public hearings were also held in various regions to gather input from the general public, labor and pressure groups, as well as religious and business leaders.
