Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the establishment of the Farmers-Herders Board and signed five other bills into law during a ceremony attended by members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
The establishment of the Farmers-Herders Board is seen as a crucial step in preventing conflicts and enhancing security, drawing inspiration from successful models in states like Jigawa.
Additionally, Governor Mohammed signed the Access to Basic Education Bill into law, which is expected to boost school enrollment rates in the state.

Among the bills signed into law are the repeal of the Sa’adu Zungur University Law 2022 and the reenactment of the Bauchi State Establishment Law 2010.
The governor also signed into law the repeal of the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Law 2012.
Other laws signed include the Rural Access Road Authority 2024 and the establishment of the Border Communities Development Agency, aimed at addressing issues such as rural infrastructure development and development in border communities.
Governor Mohammed emphasized that these new laws are crucial for addressing various challenges faced by the state, including improving school enrollment, enhancing rural infrastructure, and fostering development in border communities.
