Governors Yahaya Bello and Hope Uzodinma of Kogi and Imo States have been warned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to try to rig the governorship election on Saturday.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has mobilized the people of Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States to go to any lengths allowed by law to preserve their votes in the upcoming governorship elections on Saturday.
Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s official spokesman, called on Bello and Uzodinma to concede defeat after their alleged disastrous tenure in office.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Ologunagba said the PDP will not allow anybody to rig the voting process in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.
According to Ologunagba: “Our Party restates that it will never allow anybody, no matter how highly positioned, to manipulate the electoral process in the governorship election in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa States. In fact, our Party explicitly warns that the legitimate fury of the people may be visited upon anyone who seeks to rig or manipulate the election.
“The PDP, in particular, warns Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, and his puppet candidate, Usman Ododo, to get ready to admit defeat on Saturday, as they would be rejected by the people for their catastrophic failure in government.
In a statement released on Monday, the PDP said, “The PDP reaffirms that all indices from several Entrance Polls indicate that the PDP candidates are leading and will sweep the governorship election in the three States.” We will fight back against any electoral path that goes against the overwhelming will of the voters at the polls.
According to the PDP, “many important Imo State people, including big industrialists and businesses, have voiced their support for the PDP Candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, via messages and visits to the PDP headquarters in Owerri.
“These notable Imo people have also denied their claimed support and donation of monies to the APC and its governorship candidate, Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Governor Hope Uzodimma’s government has destroyed the State’s economy, brought immeasurable misery to the people, and transformed Imo State into a theater of violence, killings, and kidnappings; therefore, no decent resident of Imo State would ever support him.
According to Ologunagba, the people of Imo State can easily identify the enablers of instability and misery that his administration symbolizes if Governor Uzodimma will just make public the names of the citizens he claims have donated money to his campaign.
