The Chairman of the Benue State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Sales/Lease of government assets, companies, and markets, Justice Apollos Paul (rtd), has called for memoranda from the general public.
This announcement follows the recent establishment of two commissions of inquiry by the Benue State Government: the Income and Expenditure Commission of Inquiry and the Sales and Lease of Government Assets 2024.
In a press statement signed by Justice Apollos and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Friday, the Commission invited contributions and insights from individuals, organizations, stakeholders, and the public to aid in their investigations.

Governor Hyacinth Alia inaugurated the two commissions on February 27, 2024, with a mandate to complete their assignments and submit reports within six months.
Justice Apollos stated, “The Commission seeks the invaluable contributions and insights of concerned individuals, organizations, stakeholders, and the general public to aid in the thorough investigations and review of the aforementioned transactions.”
The Commission’s terms of reference include identifying all government properties, companies, and markets sold or leased between May 29, 2015, and May 28, 2023.
Additionally, it aims to determine the status and correct value of these assets at the time of sale or lease.
The notice urged all concerned individuals and organizations with relevant information, insights, or grievances related to the sale or lease of government assets, companies, markets, and moribund companies within the review period to come forward.
