Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reaffirmed his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing his unwavering support for the ruling party.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor addressed recent allegations made by the Benue chapter of the APC, asserting that he remains dedicated to the party’s cause.
The APC in Benue had accused Governor Alia of neglecting the party and collaborating with opposition political groups.

Furthermore, they alleged that the governor had established and financed a committee tasked with disseminating false information about the state’s APC chapter to the Presidency and the APC National Secretariat.
Governor Alia, however, dismissed these claims, expressing his special affection for the APC, particularly the Benue chapter.
He stated, “My continued funding of our party activities and expanding its stakeholders’ meetings in the state are eloquent testimonies of how I hold the party so dear to my heart.”
Addressing specific accusations, the governor clarified, “A particularly absurd claim says there is a formation and funding of a committee headed by retired Gen. Lawrence Onoja and Mr Emmanuel Jime, supposedly tasked to misinform the Presidency and National Secretariat about the situation in Benue.”
He refuted this assertion and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises to the people of Benue.
Governor Alia concluded by affirming his determination to contribute positively to the success of the APC, both at the state and national levels.
