MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly in advanced discussions with Monaco star Bernardo Silva.
The Portuguese playmaker’s talents have attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
French outlet Le 10 Sport claimed last month that Jose Mourinho was determined to sign Silva this summer as he bids to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.
Canal+ suggested that United moved ahead of Barcelona and Real this week, with the Red Devils in pole position to sign him.
The report said Manchester United completed the necessary groundwork by holding informal discussions with the relevant parties.
However, Canal+ reckon Jose Mourinho has moved a step closer to getting his man with United supposedly in advanced talks over a move with the player himself.
Canal Football Club tweeted: “INFO CANAL+: Bernardo #Silva in advanced contact with #ManchesterUnited #SRFCASM #JourDeFoot #MUFC.”
Mourinho is apparently ready to splash £200million on signings this summer and Silva could the first man to be ticked off of his transfer wish list.
Silva admitted this week on Portuguese TV station SIC Noticias that he is open to a move while his stock is high.
“I am finishing my third season in Monaco, who gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level,” Silva said.
“But of course, every player dreams of playing for the best teams and in the best divisions one day.
“I’m no exception.”
