Betting Exchange picks Fairsail over the competition for global HRIS suite
Reading, UK 15 May 2014 – Fairsail, the leader in Global Workforce Collaboration, today announced that Betfair, London-based Betting Exchange pioneer, has gone live with Fairsail’s cloud-based HRIS suite to provide a global HR solution to its 1600+ employees.
The implementation began in December and went live in April. “We are delighted with the Fairsail implementation which was straightforward and painless.” said Betfair CIO Michael Bischoff. “The speed at which the solution was delivered, and the ease of the rollout, once again illustrates the benefits of our strategic move to using software-as-a-service platforms.”
Fairsail was selected in late 2013 out of 11 vendors evaluated, including Workday, due to its proven experience implementing a cost-efficient global HR platform across an array of languages and currencies. Prior to this, Betfair had outgrown the reach of its current HR systems, which were already disparately spread by country and functionality. With country-specific employment rule sets, calendars, currencies and languages to comply with, the decision was made to consolidate their multiple recruitment and HCM systems into one integrated solution.
The robustness and resilience of the security-accredited platform was a key factor in their choice. Fairsail will also enable Betfair to eliminate resource-intensive data processing and assure regulatory compliance across multiple regions, freeing up HR teams to be more strategic and its employees to be more productive.
Lisa Hillier, Group HR Director at Betfair explains: “We chose Fairsail because they are in line with the kind of business we are: disruptive, agile and growing. Everyone talks about having an ‘international mind’ with the way they deal with employees. That joined-up process is what we were striving for with the move to Fairsail. We wanted to know how our employees are being managed and performing across all our locations. We are excited to have a HR system which brings simplicity and transparency to processes such as hiring, talent management and employee collaboration.”
Adam Hale, Fairsail CEO, said: “Betfair is an industry-leading enterprise, with a desire to use the latest technology to get ahead of the competition. The management at Betfair saw an opportunity with Fairsail’s Global HRIS to create better staff retention, leading to a better customer experience and ultimately better business performance. We look forward to helping Betfair build and maintain its leading position in the market.”
