The Federal Government has urged Bishop Matthew Kukah to use his office to work for religious harmony in Nigeria, instead of doing things that will divide the nation along religious lines.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, Lai said Bishop Kukah comparing the Federal Government with Boko Haram is not just disingenuous, but also a massive disservice to the soldiers who battle the terrorist group and ISWAP every day to make the citizens safe.
He added that FG believes Boko Haram does not belong to any religion and only have an aim to kill mindlessly and destroy without restrain, irrespective of their victims’ creed, gender or tribe.
His words, ”To now attribute the actions of these mad bunch to an orchestrated and systematic plan to elevate one religion over the other or decimate adherents of a particular religion is not only unfortunate but divisive, incendiary and insensitive.”
