Elder statesman and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Bode George, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent media chat, describing it as lacking empathy and humanity.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, George expressed disappointment in the President’s remarks, stating that Tinubu appeared indifferent to the plight of suffering Nigerians.
Citing the recent food queue stampedes that claimed 67 lives in Abuja, Anambra, and Ibadan during food distribution, George lamented the worsening hunger and anger across the country.

He accused the President of insisting that his reforms are working despite rising poverty levels and the collapse of businesses.
“There is hunger and anger in the land. It is getting worse by the day. Hunger doesn’t believe in your talk, you gotta be real,” George said.
He further criticized the tone of the media chat, saying, “I’m surprised that there is no iota of somberness and humanity in the discussion. Why do you have a discussion in the first instance?”
According to George, the President’s media chat was an inappropriate way to close the year, given the hardships faced by many Nigerians.
He also called on the Tinubu administration to reduce the price of petrol and provide immediate palliatives to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, whom he said have been impoverished by the government’s policies.
“The administration must act now to address the challenges faced by Nigerians.
People are hungry, businesses are collapsing, and it is the duty of the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens,” George concluded.
