The DSS has allowed Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to get a second opinion on his health.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s primary attorney, stated on Friday that the IPOB leader had been examined by doctors at a hospital in Abuja.
“We are pleased to inform you that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu met with his choice personal physician yesterday (Friday) in a hospital in Abuja, outside the facility of the State Security Service (SSS),” Ejiofor said in a statement.

As is customary, I was present during the consultation. He (Kanu) will shortly advance to the next step after a smooth and fruitful medical check.
The DSS has had Kanu in custody since June 2021, when he was taken into custody in Kenya and returned there.
Kanu constantly requested an outside medical evaluation of his illness while he was in police custody.
