Cairo, 6 May 2015: The Confederation of African Football, CAF, and Qatar Football association have signed a five-year Cooperation Agreement for the development of football between the two organisations.
CAF President Issa Hayatou and QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al -Thani signed the agreement on Wednesday 6th of May at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The cooperation will be focusing on exchanging expertise and experience in various areas such as administration, coaching, sports medicine, refereeing, youth football and women football, infrastructure development, marketing and communications.
“I am looking forwards to a mutually rewarding partnership between the Qatar Football Association and the Confederation of African Football; I strongly believe this agreement will help us further develop our goals, especially from the technical aspect” said the QFA President
“This agreement demonstrates our common commitment to the development of football. We’re confident that through exchanges in the various development programmes outlined, we will enhance our working collaborations and provide opportunities and platforms for our members to churn out solutions that will have long lasting positive impact on African football development,” said CAF President Hayatou.
