In the last four months, the question we haveall been asking has been, will Cassper Nyovest and his arch-rival, AKA ever settle their differences? As some might say that can’t be possible ‘at least for now’. However, Cassper has since moved on from it.
The rapper, who made history after becoming the first South African artist to #FillUpTheDome, briefly touched on his feud with the Levels hitmaker during his MTV Base Behind The Story interview on Friday, November 13.
When asked about AKA, Cassper said he doesn’t want to get into that story anymore. ‘I don’t wanna talk about it anymore. It’s not gonna end, man. This is one of the most important interviews of my life and I don’t want the highlight to the interview to be Kiernan (AKA). It’s over for me.’ If they’d ever make up? Cassper insisted: ‘It’s over for me… I’m far ahead of all of my fights and beef, I’m far, man. I just had a meeting with the minister; I mean two hours before this (interview). I’m talking about how we’re going to inspire kids and how we’re going to change the country, and I think I’m just putting stains on something beautiful by entertaining that thing.’ READ: Cassper Nyovest beats AKA to win ‘Best Southern African Male’ at AFRIMA 2015.
So, does this mean that the beef has been squashed? Not really. He said: ‘It’s not squashed. Squashed would mean that we get along or we tolerate each other. No, I am moving on, leaving it. I’m the one who’s leaving it… If he decides to carry on performing Composure, it’s for him and it will make him happy.’
To show that he’s moving on, Cassper also added that that he’ll never perform Dust 2 Dust ever again. ‘Same way I left performing beef, it’s over. I left it…’…
