A section of the ceiling in the Obehie Magistrate Court, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, collapsed on Friday during court proceedings, causing a brief commotion among those present.
Although no injuries were reported, the incident created a moment of confusion and forced the court to temporarily suspend its session.
A local source from Ukwa West revealed that the building had been in a dilapidated state for years before the ceiling finally gave way.

The Presiding Magistrate, Nnenna Nwogwugwu, reportedly resumed proceedings after the initial disruption, ensuring that all matters on the case list were addressed before the end of the day.
The incident highlights concerns over the state of judicial infrastructure in the area, with calls for urgent government intervention to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
