During the 7th and 8th joint convocation ceremony at the Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State, the Chancellor, King (Dr) Dandeson Douglas Jaja, voiced deep concerns regarding the security challenges plaguing the institution.
Addressing attendees on Saturday, Chancellor Jaja disclosed that the university’s main campus, located approximately 25km from the take-off campus, is situated in a volatile area susceptible to kidnappings and bandit attacks.
He emphasized that these security concerns have resulted in restrictions on the use of main campus facilities.
Call for Government and Stakeholder Action:
Expressing the severity of the situation, Chancellor Jaja called upon the Federal Government and other stakeholders to intensify efforts in addressing the security challenges facing Federal University Dutsinma.

He urged swift and decisive action to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the smooth functioning of academic activities.
In his address, Chancellor Jaja stated, “While I do not intend to bore you with a long speech, I must not fail to inform you that FUDMA is facing serious security challenges.
The main campus of the university is located at a distance of about 25km from the take-off campus located in a volatile area vulnerable to attacks by kidnappers and bandits.”

As the Chancellor highlighted the precarious security situation, he emphasized the collective responsibility required to safeguard the university community.
