Chelsea could be set to open talks with AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli this summer, according to the latest reports.
.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims Balotelli will leave Milan after the World Cup – potentially for Stamford Bridge.
.
Because the report suggests Chelsea may sound out Balotelli’s interest in returning to the Premier League at the end of the season.
.
The €35m-rated Italy striker, who moved to AC Milan from Manchester City last January, has become unsettled at the San Siro and has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
.
With six months before the start of the World Cup, Balotelli has plenty of time to plot his next move should he decide to leave Milan.
.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has heavily linked with a move for a striker this month, but he said last week that another forward was not a priority for his side in January.
.
He may wait until the end of the season, generally accepted to be an easier time to do business, with Chelsea well placed to mount a title challenge despite a lack of goals from Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres.
.
But Milan director Adriano Galliani remains convinced Balotelli will remain a Milan player.
