Chelsea did not try to keep ex-defender, Antonio Rudiger at the club, his agent has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the old leadership at Stamford Bridge actually made next to no effort to keep the German CB when his contract was almost up, so an exit was always inevitable.
The agent added that Rudiger was even offered a contract that was half the amount Romelu Lukaku was earning at some point.
His words, “What if I told you Chelsea, and the old regime, basically made next to no effort to keep the player. At the time he was very happy to stay and potentially be the captain of the club,”
“He was offered a contract that was half the amount Romelu Lukaku were earning.”
