Popular Nigerian singer, Niniola Apata, has come out to say that she chose to remain an independent artist despite receiving several offers from record labels. She recently had her say during an interview with Hip TV, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, she decided to stay unsigned because she was not very comfortable with the deals the record labels kept offering, especially the ones that tried to change her preferred AfroHouse genre of music.

Nini added that she does not toy with her freedom to be creative, so any deal that can potentially take that away from her will always be resisted.
Her words, “I have been an independent artist for 10 years now, and it has its pros and cons. After I released my debut single Ibadi in 2014, several record labels reached out, but I was skeptical because I didn’t want anyone to take away my creative freedom.
Even over the years, some deals have come, but I haven’t been comfortable with them.”
WOW.
