Hon (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu has called on the three tiers of government to ensure the rights and lives of the Nigerian children are adequately protected through guaranteed security and improved educational standard. This, according to him, is necessary to safeguard their future.
In a statement released to commemorate this year’s children’s day celebration, Adebutu frowned at kidnappers and traffickers targeting innocent children. He painted their dastardly acts as not only unacceptable to him but unforgivable sins against God and humanity. He assured the children of the collaboration between the national assembly and federal government to curb the criminality.
While expressing confidence in the potentials and brilliance of the Nigerian child whom he described as “hope of tomorrow”, the Chairman, House Committee on Rural Development, called on the parents, teachers and guardians to fulfil their obligations by guiding the children aright and teaching them in the way of God in order to be useful to the nation.
The federal lawmaker, equally, did not fail to charge the government to make education affordable and provide a conducive environment for effective learning. Also, the Ogun State 2019 gubernatorial aspirant admonished the Nigerian child to study hard, embrace hardwork, discipline and honesty. These virtues as Hon Ladi puts it, would guarantee them a brighter future.
