Adewale Giwa, a popular cleric in Ondo State and Senior Pastor of Awaiting the Second Coming of Christ Ministry, has urged residents of the state not to vote for stingy politicians in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
He warned that electing such individuals could have a detrimental effect on the state’s development.
Speaking in Akure, the state capital, Giwa emphasized the need to avoid a repeat of the challenges experienced in the last seven years. He advised aspirants whose aim is to exploit the state to withdraw from the gubernatorial race.

Giwa specifically called out one of the contestants whom he described as “stingy,” noting that the individual is only spending money forcefully to secure a party ticket. He cautioned that if such a person were to be elected, the state would suffer for another six years.
According to Giwa, stingy individuals are reluctant to give or lend money to others and prioritize personal gain over public welfare. He stressed the importance of electing leaders who can lead the state back to the developmental achievements of past administrations.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the governorship poll for November 16, 2024, with party primaries set to take place in April.
