Reverend Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has said that cooperation between the state’s various security agencies has resulted in “relative peace” in the region.
Assuring the security services of the state government’s backing, the governor addressed during the commencement ceremony for Air War College Course 9/2023 at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi.
Alia said that the people would be able to rest easy knowing that the military was present in their state and actively participating in major events.

On behalf of Benue State, he thanked the Federal Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces for their continued assistance.
The governor congratulated the graduates and urged them to continue to represent their country well.
General Christopher Musa, speaking on behalf of Minister of Defense Mohammed Abubakar, praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for their dedication to training and developing their human resources.
Abubakar claims the War College will improve the Nigerian Air Force’s ability to think critically and make proactive decisions in the military.
He expressed appreciation to the governor for taking time out of his schedule to be present at the ceremony.
The minister noted that Governor Ortom has shown a readiness to work with the Nigerian military, and promised that the military would back him up to restore peace in Benue.
