Umar Namadi, governor of Jigawa State, has written to the assembly of his state requesting confirmation of sixteen commissioner nominees.
This information was released in a statement authored by Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State.
There were eight new commissioners and eight returning ones.
To name a few: Ibrahim Babangida Umar, Professor Hannatu Sabo Muhammad, Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Kainuwa, Aminu Kanta, Ahmed Garba MK, and Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa.
In addition to Gambo Shu’aibu Mallam and Lawan Yunusa Danzomo, the list also includes Isah Yusuf Chamo, Sagir Musa Ahmed, Hadiza Abdulwahab, Col. Muhammad Alhassan (rtd), Nura Ibrahim Dandoka, and Gambo Shu’aibu.
Muttaka Namadi, Auwal Danladi Sankara, and Musa Adamu Aliyu are also included.
In his letter, Governor Namadi cited Section 192 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, as the legal basis for seeking confirmation of the nominees.
