
The Federal Government of Nigeria has commiserated with the Tsafe Emirate, the government and people of Zamfara State over the death of the Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Habibu Aliyu, Yan Doton Tsafe, describing his death as a big loss not only to the emirate and people of the state but to the entire nation.
The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, who led the Federal Government delegation on a visit to the Emirate, conveyed the message.
In a statement issued by the Minister’s Public Relations Officer, Col. Tukur Gusau, Dan-Ali said the Yan Doton Tsafe was God fearing, peace-loving and humble, noting that his fatherly guidance and wise counsel would be missed.
According to the statement, the minister acknowledged the immense contributions of the late Emir to the development of Zamfara state and the nation at large especially in promoting peaceful coexistence within and outside the emirate.
The minister prayed the almighty Allah to grant the soul of the late Emir eternal rest in his bosom while also praying that Allah give his immediate family and entire people of the state the fortitude to bear the great loss.
The statement indicated that the delegation which comprised Senator Kabiru Marafa among other top dignitaries from the state was received at the Emir’s palace by Governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari.
Prayers were offered for the soul of the late monarch as well as for the speedy recovery and safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari from his medical vacation.
The monarch passed away on July 26 at the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto after a protracted illness.
He is survived by four wives 25 children and 62 grand children.
The late Emir who was revered by his subjects and admirers from far and near succeeded his father, late Alhaji Aliyu Yan doto in 1991.
