– Imago Techmedia’s communication and collaboration technology expo unifies the business community –
London, Wednesday 05 March: Connected Business Expo has lived up to its reputation of being Europe’s leading communication and collaboration event featuring over 100 seminars from some of today’s leading business and technology influencers and attracting a record number of exhibitors to the show. The event took place on 4-5 March and has grown significantly since last year with a 26% rise in floor space and a 20% rise in exhibitor numbers.
“The aim of Connected Business Expo is to help organisations understand how they gain business advantage through communication and collaboration technologies, and this goal was definitely achieved, bringing benefit to both our exhibitors and attendees. With our extensive seminar programme, exhibition area and networking opportunities, this year’s show was a resounding success and has built the platform for the 2015 event,” says Duncan Kirk, chief operating officer, Imago Techmedia.
The expo kicked off with an inspirational presentation by the editor of Unified Communications Insight, Guy Clapperton and Philip Vanhoutte, senior VP and MD, Plantronics Europe and Africa. The keynote, titled The Smarter Working Manifesto, was used to launch the duo’s book of the same name and focused on ways in which to build the best workplace with an emphasis on the right tools, flexible working and the environment.
Further highlights of day one included a seminar from Dr Nicola Millard, customer experience futurologist, BT Global Services, looking at leadership in the digital age. Drawing on research conducted by the London Business School and the University of Cambridge, Millard discussed the trends shaping the future of the world of work and the importance of leadership within that setting. Dave Coplin, Microsoft’s chief envisioning officer ended day one with a seminar titled Rise of the Humans (Business Re-imagined Part II) that discussed how the increasing amount of information affects all spheres of life both in the digital and real worlds.
Day two began with an insightful keynote delivered by Jive Software’s chief strategy officer and New York Times best-selling author Christopher Morace. Delving into the phenomenon of disruptive social technology, Morace discussed how successful companies are using social technologies to their advantage. Steve Blood, research VP, Gartner Research, delivered a thought provoking seminar on unified communications and interoperability; while Matthew Raymond, systems director, Trailfinders, delivered a keynote titled Driving Revenues with Contact Centres that delved into cloud, maximising the customer experience and competitive edge.
“The breadth of discussion generated by our seminar programme was perfectly complemented by the range of technologies and expertise on offer in our exhibition hall. Spread across all of our key themes – unified communications; mobile and visual communications and applications; social business and collaboration; and customer management – the expo brings real value to attendees from all industries. It is one of the differentiating factors that has established Connected Business Expo as a leading communication and collaboration event,” concludes Kirk.
Connected Business Expo 2015 will be held on 21-22 April and will be co-located with the newly launched Connected World Expo that explores the potential, impact and benefits of the Internet of Things.
