The Lagos State Ministry of health, has confirmed a COVID-19 positive case in a boarding secondary school in the mainland area of the state. The positive case which was discovered earlier this month, was found in a staff of the school and the tracing done to discover persons the staff has had contact with after testing positive to the virus, revealed that about five persons have been infected by the staff, among which is a student of the school.

The incident is however been monitored by the Lagos State COVID-19 Incident Command System, members of the public should be rest assured that the situation is being handled.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Health, necessary steps are being taken to curtail the spread of the virus in the school and the community at large.
The school is however following the COVID-19 guidelines as directed by the government. Students who tested positive are presently being isolated in the school and will later be admitted to the one of the isolation centres in the state.
Following the confirmed result, NCDC officials and members of the Emergency Operation Centre Lagos have been deployed to the school to provide strategic intervention and support.
The Lagos State Ministry of Health, thereby reminded the public that COVID-19 is still ravaging and people should maintain both personal and environmental hygiene. The Ministry also charged people to always wear facemask while going to public places and should continue the hand washing culture.
