Cristian Romero’s father, Victor, has addressed the growing speculation surrounding his son’s Tottenham contract and next destination. The future of the Argentine CB has been thrust into the spotlight following sensational claims regarding a potential exit, and fans have been reacting.
According to Victor, he expects Spurs to at least recoup their initial investment should a sale happen this summer, but he cannot say anything for sure.

Stressing that his son still has 3 years on his contract, he added that Romero‘s release clause is between $50-70 million.
His words, “It’s a bombshell that keeps getting bigger. I hope it’s true; as a Belgrano fan and a father, what more could I want, but I don’t know anything.
Cuti isn’t one to make statements, that’s why it surprises me.
He has two more years on his contract with Tottenham and a very high release clause. The English club isn’t going to let him go for free; it’s between $50-70m [€43.4-60.6m]. For me, they’ll want to recover what they invested.”
WOW.
