The Cross River State chairman-elect of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba has called on all aspirants for the vacant Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency seat to ensure that they complied by the rules.
He also cautioned them to shun any form of violence and antagonism against fellow aspirants.
Addressing party faithful in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, Eba also charged politicians and supporters not to employ devices and antics that were inimical to the growth and progress of the party beyond 2023.
“I would want you all to be committed to a level playing field, shun violent tendencies and antics that could harm the party’s interest.
“It is important that you abide by the INEC and the party’s rules as we campaign towards the by-election in February 2021,” he said.
He also admonished all members to be willing to make sacrifices and embrace consensus where necessary for the advancement of the party.
Eba charged supporters and officials to get to work as the by-election, which would be the first to be conducted during his tenure, would illustrate how the 2023 general election will look like.
