Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has alleged that Nigerians are being encouraged to attend All Progressives Congress (APC) rallies in large numbers to create a false impression of popular support for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Trust TV, Dalung, who served under the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, accused the APC-led government of failing to channel the nation’s resources into meaningful development.
“We are encouraging so many people to join APC because they have refused to invest the resources of this country in development, so we are sending people,” he said.

“Watch out during APC rallies — the crowd you will see there will deceive the president to go and be resting in France.”
Dalung recounted an incident during the Endgovernance protest, claiming that ministers were distributing N20,000 to mobilise supporters. According to him, his group withdrew from the protest’s core activities, encouraging their followers to collect the money and return with it.
“They collected N20,000 and brought it. That was the money we used to buy minerals and food on the day of the protest,” he said.
The former minister maintained that since the government was allegedly mismanaging public funds, citizens had the right to reclaim such money in any way possible.
“We are encouraging people to go [to rallies] because it’s our money, and they have refused to invest it in the development of our country,” Dalung added.
